FAQs
What is the difference between King Ferry Winery and Treleaven?
This is our most commonly asked question. We are King Ferry Winery, maker of Treleaven wines. The Treleaven label represent our European styles of wine - the influence on which the winery was founded. The King Ferry label, on the other hand, represents the non- traditional, modern styles. We added the King Ferry label as we expanded our production to offer a selection for a wide range of tastes. The Treleaven name originates from the last name of the original owners of the farm on which the vineyard is planted. The King Ferry name originates from the township where we are located.

Do you charge tasting fees?
Yes, it's $3.00 per person with a choice of 6 selections. We have an extra $1.00 tasting fee for some select wines. (A portion of our tasting fees gets donated to a local charity every year.)
Do you have food available at your winery?
During the season from May to October we have local cheeses and snacks available to sit out and enjoy with a glass of wine. But we do not have a restaurant on site. However there are some great local restaurants nearby. For restaurants & other local attractions look at these two website cayugaseastshore.com & visitaurorany.com. If you are coming out looking for a great spot for breakfast prior to wine tasting, there is a new bakery in downtown King Ferry called Man in the Moon Cheesecake Co. maninthemooncheesecake.com
Are there any places to eat on your side of the lake?
We are fortunate on the east shore of Cayuga Lake to have many great places to dine. Two gems of attractions are Pumpkin Hill Bistro and the Aurora Inn. Man in the Moon Cheesecake Co. has a bakery open for those looking for breakfast. Other options in the King Ferry area are the King Ferry hotel, Rogue's Harbor to the south, The Fargo Bar and Grill for more casual dining in Aurora, and just off the beaten path of the east shore is an all organic restaurant in Niles called Niles Gourmet Bistro. For more recommendations check out these two sites: cayugaseastshore.com & visitaurorany.com
Do you donate wine to organizations / fundraisers?
Yes, with limitations. We receive hundreds of requests weekly so we require requests to be submitted through our online donation request form for consideration and we donate a certain quantity of wine per quarter, and once that maximum quantity is reached we do not donate until the following quarter.
Do you host weddings and rehearsal dinners?
No, we do not host weddings or rehearsal dinners. However there are some great local options for both. We love to recommend Pumpkin Hill Bistro, Aurora Inn & The John Joseph Inn and Elizabeth Restaurant . You can request our wines at all 3 venues. Sometimes our neighbor wineries to the north and south, Long Point Winery, & Six Mile Creek Vineyard, respectively, will host smaller weddings.
Do you host small events for business meetings, office parties, or special events for organizations?
Yes and no. There are many things that go into determining if we will be a viable host for a special event. Please feel free to contact us with a request at info@treleavenwines.com. To expedite the answer, please let us know the desired date and time, space needed and for what purpose, and the number of people expected to attend.
Will you come to our special event and do wine tastings?
There are many different types of events that allow for wineries to be able to offer tastings. Most require certain permits and licenses to do so. Please read our guidelines on our outside events request form then fill out the entire request form for our consideration. Permits, licensing, logistics & staffing takes time, and we like to have at least a 3 week notice for events. If you are a liquor store or restaurant that carries our product looking to set up a tasting, please contact us at wholesale@treleavenwines.com.
Do you create personal labels?
Yes, we are able to accommodate this request on some of our wines for weddings, anniversaries, holiday presents and thank you gifts for businesses. Contact us for examples. We also offer special painted bottles upon request. We require about a three week lead time for special labels and about a week for painted bottles. Please call us at 315-364-5100 to check availability and to place your order.
Do you ship wine?
Yes, we do ship directly to the consumer. There are restrictions from state to state as far as whether we can ship and how much we can ship. Every winery will have different states they can ship to. Our online order form should answer your questions about shipping to your state, if not feel free to contact us at 315-364-5100 during business hours.
Do you sell to liquor stores / restaurants?
Yes, we do. In NY State we self distribute. If you want to see where we are sold in your area, visit our Where To Buy page. If you are a wholesale location interested in our wines, contact our representative at wholesale@treleavenwines.com .
